To celebrate International Day of Women and Girls in Science 2025, the Minerallium is opening its doors to the public on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 February 2025.
The aim of International Day of Women and Girls in Science on 11 February is to promote gender equality in science. It encourages the involvement of women in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) and stresses the crucial importance of the role of women in building a sustainable future.
For this special event, we invite you to explore the contribution of women in the exciting and indispensable world of minerals!
The Minerallium, an exhibition designed in collaboration with the Museum National d’Histoire Naturelle, allows visitors to discover the little-known but essential role played by minerals from the appearance of life on Earth to their vital role in living organisms and agriculture, from the ‘Big Bang to the plate’.
Come and discover the role of minerals, from the origins of life on Earth to their use in agriculture, during guided tours organised throughout the day. You can also discover the work of Alain Bujak, ‘Toucher Terre’, whose photos and interviews reflect the daily lives of four farmers in the Eure et Loir region.
