As part of the Fête de la Science 2024, the Minerallium is opening its doors to the general public on Saturday 5 October to enable visitors to discover the little-known but essential role played by minerals from the appearance of life on Earth to their use in agriculture.
Launched in 1991 by Hubert Curien and organised by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research, the Fête de la science offers everyone, without exception, thousands of unique and interactive events, both in France and abroad.
The Fête de la science is a free event open to all, dedicated to celebrating science, technology and innovation throughout the country. It aims to encourage the sharing of knowledge between researchers and the general public.
The Minerallium, an exhibition designed in collaboration with the Museum National d’Histoire Naturelle, allows visitors to discover the little-known but essential role played by minerals from the appearance of life on Earth to their vital role in living organisms and agriculture, from the ‘Big Bang to the plate’.
Come and discover the role of minerals, from the origins of life on Earth to their use in agriculture 👨🌾, during guided tours organised throughout the day. You can also discover the work of Alain Bujak, ‘Toucher Terre’, whose photos and interviews reflect the daily lives of four farmers in the Eure et Loir region.
